Hampton County Historical Society sponsoring a “Road Trip”

Hampton County Historical Society is sponsoring a “Road Trip” Program to the Effingham Historical Museum and Living History Site in Springfield, Georgia,    on Saturday, October 1. A car caravan will leave the Hampton County Museum promptly at 9 AM that morning.    

 

At the Effingham Museum at 10 o’clock, guides will be prepared to take small groups on tours of the museum and the historic site.  The museum is in the old Effingham County Jail and the Living History Site is 15 acres full of old buildings, farm machinery and all that represents early rural life.

 

Midway during the tour a simple picnic lunch will be served on the grounds. Remember to dress comfortably and wear walking shoes.

 

Since the Effingham Museum and Living History Site will be open onlyfor our group on October 1st from 10 to 2 o’clock and they want to have sufficient guides, reservations are required.

 

                The reservation deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 28th.

The cost includes the museum entry fee and the lunch.

 $10 for Hampton County Historical Society members and their immediate family (spouse & children)

$15 for non-members

 $5 for children 6 years and younger.

 

Make your reservations with check to HCHS, Box 152, Hampton SC 29924, by calling Sarah Jo Withycombe at 943-4865 or at Hampton County Museum on Thursdays and Sundays from 2-5.

 

So -- Gather your family, your neighbors and friends for a fun-filled adventurous day.

Then make your reservations now to head to Springfield on Saturday, October 1 for the 10-2 Hampton County Historical Society’s Fall Road Trip.
