The Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program is coming to Hampton County. The goals of the program are to supplement the diets of low income seniors with fresh, nutritious produce and to support South Carolina small farmers.
The Hampton County Council on Aging, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Social Services will be issuing $25.00 worth of coupons to low income individuals age 60 and older. These coupons must be used at participating markets from May through October 15, 2016. The coupons will be issued on a first come first serve basis until the supply is exhausted.
The coupons will be issued at each Hampton County Council on Aging Center the following days and times
Monday, May 23rd – Thursday, May 26th
9:30am -3:00pm and
Estill (791 E. Fifth Ave.)
Hampton (108 Pine St. W.)and
Yemassee (4 Orrell Street)

Application must be submitted in person. Proof of identity and residence is Hampton County is required in order to receive the free coupons. Applicants must also meet household income eligibility limits. Information regarding the income of all household members is required to determine eligibility.
Individuals wishing to apply for the homebound seniors must provide a statement from the senior granting permission to submit an application on their behalf. Proof of identity and proof of income for the homebound senior must be presented at the time of application.
